General sealing outside
When sealing the building envelope, using a quality façade sealant is essential. Sealing around windows (window frame to brickwork) and between concrete or façade panels are the most common applications.
Joint sealants are intended to prevent moisture, air or dirt from penetrating the structure of a building. Various elements of a structure can move due to temperature fluctuations, the wind, etc. To be able to adapt to this movement, façade sealants must be highly elastic. Good adhesion to concrete, aluminium panels and various window frame materials (wood, PVC, coated aluminium) are also important.
Airtightness
Airtight construction prevents uncontrolled air flows that seep through (infiltrate) or escape from (exfiltrate) unwanted openings, seams and cracks in the building envelope. An airtight building envelope eliminates uncontrolled ventilation due to air leaks and limits heat and energy losses, poor acoustics, condensation and moisture problems. With Soudatight, our airtight liquid membranes, Soudal offers a solution for the airtightness of the entire building envelope.
Window and door connections play a crucial part in the quality and airtightness of the building envelope. Soudal Window System (SWS) is a professional system solution for the (airtight) sealing of window (and door) connections in accordance with current EPBD standards and legislation.
The SWS range consists of various (certified) products (sealants, PU foams, pre-compressed joint sealing tapes, window tapes, adhesives and liquid membranes), all of which can be perfectly combined. SWS offers the best suitable solution regardless of the construction or installation method, both for new-build homes and for renovations, even when "passive" is the standard.
Cladding adhesives
Our adhesives can also be used for cladding and are capable of bonding all typical materials used in construction e.g. wood, metal, plastics, concrete… but also can be used in specific cases for brickwork and brick wall strips.
These products are available in different technologies which all have their own specific properties and features.
We have available options in Hybrid, PU and chemical anchoring.
Interior finishing
- Bathroom & Kitchen: Exposure to humidity can lead to many issues. Our waterproof solutions are developed to mitigate the problems related to the applications in humid areas. Furthermore, our high quality sealants are resistant to mold development and safe to use with natural stone and we also have options to waterproof wet rooms like a shower cabin or floor.
- Floor & wall: Besides sealants for interior finishing we also offer multiple adhesives for the bonding of flooring (such as tiles, parquet, carpet or LVT) and wall coverings (such as fiberglass, photo wallpaper, cork, wood or stone strips) that require specially formulated adhesives for each application.
Variations in weight, size, desired bonding method and substrate require the correct glue to guarantee smooth application and high-quality results.
Fire safety
Finally we also offer a specialist product range for the fire-resistant sealing of joints, fire doors and penetrations. These are high-quality, fire-resistant sealants, foams and other filling products based on various technologies. All with the purpose of protecting our buildings in case of fire.
Our product range can be used for the fire-resistant sealing of gaps in prefab, industrial and high-rise construction, to join solid wall and floor elements, and also in connection joints and gaps in light partition walls. For these types of openings, Soudal offers fire-resistant solutions up to EI240, tested in accordance with the European EN 1366-4, EN 1366-3 and 1634-1 standard.
Roofing products
At Soudal we also offer a range of products for gluing thermal insulation or fleece-backed roofing membranes on flat roofs, airtight filling and sealing of gaps and joints on pinched roofs and the repair of metal and plastic roof gutters and roof tops.
Insulation injection system
Thermal and acoustic insulation and for the structural enhancement of manufactured and prefabricated housing structures.
The injection system saves production time and storage capacity compared to panel or blanket insulation installation, cutting, taping and bonding. Next to that, it creates an airtight insulation layer without thermal leaks by guaranteed 100% filling capacity.
Our injection technology allows material saving by using slimmer timber frames due to its structural enhancement capabilities. The ease-of-use and cost saving because of its single operator manufacturing are two important advantages. A safer working environment is guaranteed by its emission-free and interference-free operation.
Operational flexibility by insulating any given architectural design can be achieved within minutes, independent of the substrates and sizes used.
